WIPE OUT

This is how the first day of school started for Dani, happy, a beautiful smile, and ready to take on the fifth grade. (Now for the squimish, you might not want to look any further.)
This is how it ended. For Family Night, Mike decided on a small bike ride with the family. (I didn't go, which I'm glad now because I would not want to have seen what happened.) They weren't a few houses away when Dani hit a pot hole and flipped over the front of her bike, landing on her face on the street.

This fat lip became much bigger.
Some folks that saw the crash helped out with ice and a wet paper towell. Sue and Bronte Bringhurst were driving by and they took Dani and her bike home and the others followed quickly. Mike took her to another neighbor, Bill McBee, our local Dr, Surgeon, all around fix it man. And he told us to take her to his office. If we had gone to the emergency room, they would have just called him anyway for this type of injury. A short time later, she returned home with more than a dozen stitches, 2 chipped teeth, tired, and in pain.
It's amazing she didn't break her nose, or scratch her face up more than she did. All the damage was inside her mouth. The gums above her front teeth were ripped open and she had to have the gum flap stitched back into place. We thought she had bit through her lip but she hadn't. How the cut on the outside of her lip got there, we don't know. Dani also came home with a nice big bruise on her leg.
This morning we took her up to Dr. Marcus Wisner, our friend, neighbor, and Dentist. He managed to make her teeth look good again. She well need more work as she gets older, and gets braces and all that fun stuff. For now, she has two nice, white front teeth. A big thank you to all our friends and neighbors who have her in your prayers, and helped put her back together.
